Objectives : The three-year Engineering program in Process and Energy Engineering at SIGMA Clermont aims to train versatile engineers capable of working across the entire material and energy transformation chain: from development, modeling, design, simulation, and optimization, to process control, safety, and digitalization.
The program provides a solid scientific and technical foundation in Process and Energy Engineering, a discipline that draws on both physics and chemistry. It equips students to:
master methods and tools to effectively address the challenges of the energy transition, circular engineering, and sustainable development in industry;
contribute to innovation at the interfaces with chemistry, industrial engineering, and automation.
The teaching approach is based on a balanced allocation of time between lectures, tutorials, practical work, and projects, combined with real-world case studies (provided by partners in the socio-economic sector) to prepare students for professional life. Most instruction is delivered in small groups. To facilitate learning, the traditional lecture/tutorial format is replaced by integrated courses (a hybrid format combining lectures and exercises).
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Admission requirements : Bac +2 or bac +3
Acquired skills during the training : Understand and analyze the chemical, physical, and biological phenomena involved in processes of matter and energy transformation.
Model and simulate unit operations (reactions, separations, heat exchanges, etc.) or parts of a process to optimize their performance.
Implement and regulate these unit operations from pilot scale to industrial equipment.
Develop and design the industrial processes of tomorrow, integrating energy, environmental, and safety constraints.
Targeted careers : Research and Development Engineer
Process Engineer or Consultant
Production Engineer
Design Office Engineer / Project Manager
Health, Safety, and Environment Engineer
...
Duration and terms : 3 years
