Formation Ingénieur généraliste ISAE-SUPAERO

Course Details

Objectives : ISAE-SUPAERO generalist engineers are:
• designers of the systems of the future, multidisciplinary, focused on the issues, disciplines, and challenges of the aerospace field,
• directly employable, capable of becoming recognized technical experts, managers, or researchers,
• specialists in the approaches and methods of designing complex and critical systems that can be applied to a very wide range of applications,
• potential managers of large industrial projects in a multicultural international environment,
• engineers with innovative, management, and leadership skills, adaptability, performance, and a global perspective, integrating the challenges of the environmental and societal transition.

Public concerned : Students

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Admission requirements : In the first year:
• Students from preparatory classes for the Grandes Écoles (Mines-Ponts competitive entrance exam) – CPGE MP, PSI, PC, MPI, PT, TSI
• Admission based on academic qualifications for holders of a Bachelor's degree (3rd year) or equivalent (GEI-UNIV)
• Students from the INP preparatory program

In the second year:
• Admission based on academic qualifications for holders of a Master's degree (1st year) or equivalent (GEI-UNIV)
• Engineers specializing in armament studies and techniques (IETA – automatic admission) or military officers (based on competitive exams)
• Students from partner institutions abroad

In the third year:
• Polytechnique application school for Polytechnique students (civilians admitted based on academic qualifications and armament engineers admitted automatically)
• Admission through an exchange program: French or international students as substitutes within the framework of the school's partnership agreements

Acquired skills during the training : Engineers are capable of:
• mastering the resolution of complex scientific and technological problems;
• combining a detailed approach with a systems approach to ensure interoperability at the micro and macro levels;
• managing multidisciplinary projects with a national and/or international scope;
• imagining and implementing innovative solutions based on state-of-the-art knowledge;
• contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and processes through critical analysis of existing solutions;
• integrating into and leading multicultural teams;
• contributing to corporate social responsibility by addressing environmental and societal challenges;
• building their career path by assessing their skills and interests.

Targeted careers : ISAE-SUPAERO's certified engineers are generalists with a strong background in the aerospace industry. However, their acquired skills allow them to work in other sectors such as transportation, energy, services, etc., as well as applied research.
