BUT Génie Industriel et Maintenance (GIM)

Course Details

Objectives : In Valenciennes, the University Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Engineering and Maintenance trains middle managers with recognized skills to install, maintain in operational condition, secure, improve a multi-technical system, and participate in the management of technical and human resources of a service.

In the 1st year of B.U.T. GIM, the common training base allows students to discover equipment maintenance professions and multi-technical systems engineering.
Courses accessible in semester 3

Multi-technical systems engineering:
This course aims to analyze and improve the functioning of a system, in order to optimize its performance. It is also based on the management of a project to install a multi-technical system, taking into account human, material and financial resources.

Management, methods, innovative maintenance:
This course focuses on the reliability, security and optimal functioning of a multi-technical system, on the organization of control and supervision operations, and on the management and leadership of intervention teams.

Degree Level (EU) : 6 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Acquired skills during the training : The goal. GIM is available in two courses, based on a common base, distinguished by the level to be achieved in each skill.
Maintain a multi-technical system in operational condition, as part of preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance.
Improving a multi-technical system, as part of improving maintenance, optimizing the efficiency of a system, adapting an existing system to a new context.
Install: organize the installation of a multi-technical system, the reinstallation of equipment, the start-up of a production line.
Manager: participate in the management of the technical and human resources of a department, as part of the operation or reorganization of the team.
Securing the operation of a system, as part of the commissioning and operation of a system, or maintenance intervention on a system.
