MOOC Spécialisation Dynamique et contrôle des engins spatiaux

Course Details

Objectives : The dynamics and control of space engines cover three main areas: the description of the motion and velocities of motion of rigid bodies (kinematics), the development of equations of motion that predict the motion of rigid bodies taking into account mass, torque and inertia (kinetics), and finally non-linear controls to program specific orientations and achieve precise objectives in three-dimensional space (control). The specialization challenges learners to develop skills in these three areas through targeted content delivery, continuous concept reinforcement, and project applications.

The objective of the specialization is to introduce theories related to the dynamics and control of space engines. This includes three-dimensional description of orientation, creation of dynamic models of rotation, as well as development of feedback control to achieve desired attitude trajectories.

Applied learning project

The final project integrates the analytical skills you have learned during the courses into a Mars mission concept where the attitude pointing of a small satellite is developed for different mission requirements. Numerical simulations are developed to validate the planned closed-loop attitude control.
